The angle The Lindbergh time angle watch was designed by Lindbergh to work with the Weems navigation system, and to simplify the calculation of the time angle from time observation. It is based on simple mathematics: since the Earth rotates once in 24 hours, and there are 360 degrees in a circle, each hour represents fifteen degrees. To understand how this is useful to browsers, consider this: suppose it's noon at your location. All you have to do is calculate the Greenwich time angle for a celestial body, and you have your longitude.
